We all need reminders and some of us (me) need more than others!
Remember WWJD bracelets??! I totally remember mine, it was green and my cousin, Jake gave it to me. Did you have one? The idea is still so good! I know I need a daily, every moment reminder. Scripture says it too.
Deuteronomy 6: 5-7 Love the Lord with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your strength...impress them on your children, talk about them when you sit at home, and when you are along the road, when you lie down and when you get up....aka all the time in your daily, normal life.
Esphesians 5:10 ...try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord....so in every situation I need to seek and ask what would please God most.
And then I read this little sports psychology tidbit this morning, which also totally took me way back to a sports psychology class that I took in college. Sic 'Em Bears!
Control the controllables! I can't control many things in this world, decisions that other people make, things about our government, or heck, even my 3 year old, but I CAN control my decisions. I CAN control my words, I CAN control how I love. I CAN be an ambassador for Christ.
So as I start this new day, I am going to work on three things, because honestly more than I that I can't really handle...
1. Discerning what is pleasing to the Lord in my daily decisions.
2. Impressing them on my children.
3. Learning to control the controllables!
What reminders do you need today?
