Hi Friends!

Welcome to my blog. I am a real life, momma sharing my passions for fashion, family and faith.

The Weeds, The Worry, The Rushed

The Weeds, The Worry, The Rushed

Ok, let's get real, I can't garden or keep a plant alive to save my life, but these weeds just hit home this week.

So here is the back story (feel free to skip along if you are a skimmer).  So my dear friends (who now all live in different cities) decided it would be good to read a chapter of the Bible together each day and then give a quick, what spoke to me text, via group text.  And let me tell you, as much as I LOVE devotions, nothing is as good as getting into the Word.

So here is the ALIVE part that spoke to me....Jesus was telling another story...his typical way of preaching...and he was explaining how the farmer can plant the seed on different grounds....road, gravel, with weeds, or good soil...You have heard the story...well I have many times, and I usually thought of the "weeds" like maybe being around "bad stuff" or "bad people" etc...but see this translation....(The Message)

“The seed cast in the weeds represents the ones who hear the kingdom news but are overwhelmed with worries about all the things they have to do and all the things they want to get. The stress strangles what they heard, and nothing comes of it.
— Mark 4:18-19

Um hello, Hill! worries about all the things they have to do....(crazy packed schedules)...or want to get (more, more, more) ....stress strangles (get it all down perfectly, please them all)...nothing comes of it! (eek!)

Wow, right?! But here is the good news...if I KNOW my tendencies...I can be more aware...more aware to get back on track, more aware to ask Him for help, more aware to change.  To do a little less, stay present a little more, choose to please God first.

and let me leave you with one more thing to read, that I just loved!!!
