Shopping Spree and Boundaries
Did someone say shopping spree? But wait, there is a catch!
A quarterly shopping spree.
I am going to try something new this year...and that is shopping in quarters...you know, spring, summer, fall, winter. And this Valentine's is my spring spree! Yippee! I am so excited to load up on spring finds, but there are a few boundaries we need to discuss.
I don't know about you, but I was getting into this habit of wanting something new for every little event...a birthday dinner, something new, a brunch with the family, something new, a girls dinner, something new, a trip to the grocery, something new...ok, I kid, but I mean, this is almost true.
I do love fashion, so where is the fun of creating outfits when you are always wanting something new?... And why do I need to spend more, but most of all, spend my energy browsing, looking and wasting time "on the hunt" for something to wear.
I want to be present with the people I love, not eyeballing every app on my phone for the next cute top or shoe. I think the Bible says it best.
Can I get an amen? I mean really, Hill? Spend time with those you love and have fun with your hobby and love of clothes, but don't let it become an idol, a distraction...(this is me pep talking myself).
So there you have it, why my quarter system is going into affect, and why I need this boundary...Now for the disclaimer...I will share my finds throughout the weeks so don't think I am cheating...just trying to bring a little more content.
Oh and it is fun to put together old goodies in your closest and make new outfits...
This is an old top that I there over a simple sleeveless dress. And here is the reason I need boundaries...
because babies don't keep, and I need to love on my people.
