A Humble Welcome
Let me start off by saying Hi Y'all...and Thank YOU!
So you may want to stop reading if you don't like long windedness, but I just have to spill my heart, and give you a back story of this blog.
So let's take this back old school, ok I mean back to when I was in school...I have always wanted to be three things growing up...a mom, a fashion designer (yep used to sketch outfits as a little girl, kept a calendar of outfits, and cut outfits out of magazines way before there was pinterest), and personal trainer (because who doesn't love an endorphin high?!, Ok I do know actually some of y'all don't love working out, and you can roll your eyes at me, but I do.) ...and can we go back to the first thing...if you asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, it was to be a mom.
Ok you the get the idea, these are some of my passions, fashion, health and family, but then there is my faith. I just have this gut stirring desire to share the Lord. NOT because I have it all together, but actually because I don't. Sharing with y'all keeps me studying, and learning and opening my heart to the Savior. I want this place/blog/insta/whatever comes next/ to be a place of encouragement and learning and fun for moms. I mean being a mom is TOUGH! I know I need a little fun and a whole lotta Jesus. That sounds so clique and t-shirty, but y'all, it is so true.
So this is where it get's tough....Sharing fashion tips and pictures is so fun, and I love it, but when it is me as the subject it just feels a little selfish. And can we talk about having someone take your picture...eeek, y'all it is so hard! I want to interact on stories, and I want to continue to reach more followers, but I have to check myself and my heart. Because can I tell you pride is so tough...and being humble is hard!
So here is my prayer that I wrote in my journal this week.
Lord, help me not to waste my life on selfish pursuits, but serve with the gifts given. Lord guard my heart against pride.
So there you have it. A little peek of why I started this, and why I am actually really going for it. and can we just say a BIG, HUGE thank you for the sweet comments when I post, the kind friends that are encouraging me to really DO this fashion/family/faith blog and those just baring with me along the way.
